Up to £200 Per Day Depending on Experience | Full-time, Permanent

Croydon Primary School is seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our team in Sutton. What You’ll Be Doing

You will be supporting pupils across Key Stage 1 with social, emotional, and mental health needs, helping them to fully access learning and develop key interpersonal skills. Working closely with the SENCo, teaching staff and parents, you will contribute to personalised support plans and deliver targeted interventions tailored to individual needs. The role will involve both in-class support and occasional one-to-one or small group sessions. You’ll also help monitor progress and report on outcomes to the wider support team.

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a calm, patient and resilient individual with a genuine passion for supporting young children with SEMH needs. You should have some experience working with pupils who require additional emotional support, ideally within a school or care-based setting. Strong communication skills, emotional intelligence, and the ability to build trusting relationships with young learners are essential. A background in SEN, Psychology or Youth Work would be beneficial, but above all, we are looking for someone who is driven to help every child thrive.
