Aspiring Psychotherapist keen to make a difference as an SEN & SEMH Teaching Assistant

Elizabeth is a Psychology and Counselling graduate with a deep commitment to supporting young people, particularly those navigating social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges. With hands-on experience in both care and educational settings—including work with children with autism and complex emotional needs—Elizabeth is now seeking a full-time Teaching Assistant role in a secondary school from September.

Her long-term ambition is to become a psychotherapist, and she’s eager to contribute to an inclusive, trauma-informed learning environment where she can continue developing her skills and making a tangible difference.

Education & Qualifications

  • BSc (Hons) Psychology and Counselling (BPS Accredited): Birmingham City University - Predicted Upper Second Class
  • A Levels: Health and Social Care (Distinction), Product Design, Art and Design
  • GCSEs: 8 Graded 9-4 including English and Maths
  • CPD: NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Mental Health First Aid and Advocacy
