Fatima – Maths Academic Mentor | Maths ECT for September
Fatima is an Early Career Teacher of Mathematics with Qualified Teacher Status, applying for the role of Maths Academic Mentor. Having completed her PGCE in Mathematics at King’s College London last June, she took a short period out for family reasons and is now keen to build further confidence and classroom experience ahead of securing a permanent Maths Teacher position for September.
Inspired to enter teaching through her work with Debate Mate, she brings a strong commitment to social mobility, high academic standards, and supporting students to develop both resilience and confidence in Maths.

Fatima is a reflective and analytical Maths ECT who has taught across contrasting secondary settings during her PGCE placements, developing strong subject knowledge, structured lesson delivery, and adaptive teaching strategies. Alongside her classroom practice, she brings extensive experience supporting and mentoring young people through tutoring, residential programmes, and widening participation initiatives.
