Susy is a compassionate and highly motivated individual with a strong personal commitment to supporting children with Special Educational Needs. As a parent of two SEN children, she brings valuable first-hand experience of working closely with educational psychologists, SENCOs and therapists, giving her a deep understanding of the challenges pupils face and the support required to help them succeed.
She is now seeking an SEN Teaching Assistant role where she can combine her personal insight with her professional skillset to support pupils’ academic progress, confidence and wellbeing.

Experience Summary
Susy brings a unique combination of lived SEN experience and professional expertise, alongside a proactive commitment to developing her knowledge through training and workshops. Her experience supporting her own children, alongside her engagement with specialists and educational services, has equipped her with practical, adaptable strategies to support a range of additional needs.
- Extensive hands-on experience supporting children with SEN including dyslexia, ADHD and autism, using tailored strategies to support learning and emotional development.
- Worked closely with educational psychologists, SENCOs, speech and language therapists and occupational therapists to implement effective support approaches.
- Supported GCSE preparation, helping to build confidence, structure learning and achieve strong academic outcomes.
- Developed strong behaviour management strategies using positive reinforcement and structured support.
- Regularly engages in SEN-focused training and workshops, including dyslexia support and parent coaching programmes.
- Brings over ten years of professional experience in Public Relations, developing exceptional organisation, communication and relationship management skills.
