Your Role as a Learning Support Assistant

As a Learning Support Assistant within the ARP, you’ll work closely with children who have autism, helping them navigate their school day, access learning, and build essential communication and social skills. This is a deeply rewarding role where no two days are the same, and your impact will be felt immediately.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Providing tailored one-to-one and small group support for children with autism
  • Supporting learning activities both within the ARP and in mainstream classrooms
  • Helping to implement EHCP strategies and track pupil progress
  • Encouraging independence, emotional regulation, and positive social interaction
  • Liaising with teachers, therapists, and SENCO to deliver consistent and effective support

What the School is Looking For

  • A graduate with a 2:1 or above and a clear interest in SEN
  • Ideally, some previous experience working with children with autism
  • A caring, resilient, and proactive Learning Support Assistant
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Full-time commitment from September 2025 through to July 2026
