Your Role as a Learning Support Assistant

As a Learning Support Assistant, you’ll work closely with students with additional needs, particularly those with autism, helping them to engage in learning, build confidence, and reach their full potential. This is a hands-on, rewarding role where your presence in the classroom can have a lasting impact.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Supporting students with SEN in mainstream classes and during small-group interventions
  • Aiding lesson access through adapted resources and personalised strategies
  • Encouraging student confidence, independence, and emotional wellbeing
  • Collaborating with teachers, SENCO, and external professionals to implement support plans
  • Monitoring and feeding back on student progress
