SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary School Role in Barking and Dagenham | September Start

This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils 1:1 and in small groups, helping them to thrive academically, socially and emotionally.
This role is ideal for aspiring SEN teachers, educational psychologists, or graduates with a background in psychology, childhood studies or education who are looking to gain long-term experience in a supportive primary school setting.

What You’ll Be Doing:
- Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with additional needs
- Implementing personalised learning plans and behaviour strategies
- Supporting pupils with communication, sensory and emotional regulation
- Assisting class teachers with inclusive classroom activities
- Monitoring progress and helping pupils develop confidence and independence
- Creating a safe, calm and encouraging learning environment
Ideal SEN Teaching Assistant Profile:
- Graduate with a 2:1 or above in Psychology, Education, or a related field
- Experience supporting children with SEN (autism, ADHD, speech & language needs etc.) is highly desirable
- Patient, empathetic and resilient with a genuine passion for supporting pupils
- Clear communication skills and a calm, positive demeanour
- Committed to inclusion and safeguarding of all pupils
- Looking to build a career in SEN teaching, therapy, or educational psychology
