Role as an SEN Teaching Assistant
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be working closely with the Year 2 class team to provide consistent and tailored support to a pupil with autism. You’ll help create a positive and structured learning environment, ensuring the student feels confident, engaged, and included in all aspects of school life.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Providing 1:1 support to a Year 2 student with autism
- Assisting with lesson activities, adapting resources to meet the student’s needs
- Encouraging social interaction, independence, and emotional regulation
- Liaising with class teachers, SENCO, and external professionals
- Helping to maintain detailed records of progress and support strategies
