Role as a Therapeutic Teaching Assistant
As a Therapeutic Teaching Assistant, you will provide targeted support to pupils who face social, emotional, or mental health challenges. You’ll help build their confidence, promote self-regulation, and support learning both in and out of class.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Providing 1:1 and small group therapeutic support to pupils with SEMH needs
- Encouraging emotional regulation and positive coping strategies
- Supporting learning in the classroom in collaboration with teachers
- Building trusting relationships to foster confidence and engagement
- Liaising with SENCO, parents, and external specialists to track progress
