What You’ll Be Doing
You will work alongside teaching staff across Key Stage 1 to provide targeted support for pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs. Your role will include offering one-to-one guidance, small group interventions, and behaviour management support, helping pupils to stay engaged in learning. You will assist in creating a safe, supportive, and structured environment where every child feels valued and encouraged. Your insight and input will also contribute to behaviour plans and strategies tailored to individual needs.
Ideal Candidate
- Experience working with children with SEMH needs in an educational or care setting
- Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and child development
- Patient, empathetic, and resilient, with strong interpersonal skills
- Capable of building trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
- Relevant qualifications or training in support needs or behaviour management would be an advantage
