What You’ll Be Doing
As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils in Key Stage 1 who require additional support with their social, emotional and mental wellbeing. Working closely with class teachers and the SENCO, you will help create a safe and structured environment for learning. Your role will include one-to-one support, small group interventions, and helping pupils develop emotional regulation strategies. You will contribute to personalised learning plans and play a key role in promoting a positive, inclusive classroom culture.
Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience supporting children with SEMH or similar needs
- A calm, resilient and empathetic approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Able to build positive relationships with children, staff and parents
- Relevant training or qualifications in SEND is desirable but not essential
